Modern Oasis

A Resort Concept Inspired by Desert Mythology

This innovative hotel development concept draws inspiration from the mythology of the desert cities, creating a unique experience that can be adapted to various locations. The resort features a multiform complex, consisting of several buildings arranged around a central series of pools designed for relaxation.

The primary design principle that underpins this project is the celebration of culturally rich mythologies. By taking inspiration from ancient narratives, we seek to create a resort that transports guests to a realm of wonder and enchantment. The resort's multiform layout, with its collection of buildings clustered around a series of tranquil pools, echoes the oasis-like settlements that have long been a part of the desert landscape. This design creates a visually striking arrangement and fosters a sense of community and shared experience among guests.

At ground level, the heart of the resort is surrounded by hospitality venues, including a café bar, world cuisine restaurant, lobby lounge, and retail stores. These spaces are strategically positioned to provide guests with convenient access to an array of amenities and services.

The resort offers a range of accommodations to suit different preferences and group sizes. Guests can choose from studio rooms, one-bedroom suites, two-bedroom penthouse suites, and spacious luxury residences with up to four rooms. Each accommodation type includes well-appointed bedrooms, a lounge area, a private terrace or balcony, a water bar with filtered drinking water, and modern bathrooms.

A mythical oasis where ancient narratives intertwine with contemporary design, creating an immersive escape that redefines luxury and ignites the imagination.

In developing this concept, we have undertaken a thorough appraisal of the context in which such a resort might be situated. While the specific location may vary, we have considered the climatic conditions, cultural heritage, and natural environment. This contextual understanding has informed our choice of materials, colour palettes, and architectural elements, ensuring that the resort harmonises with its surroundings while still offering a unique and memorable experience.

The resort's design also takes into account the evolving needs and preferences of modern travellers. By offering a range of accommodation options, from intimate studio rooms to spacious luxury residences, we cater to diverse guest requirements and create a sense of inclusivity and adaptability.

Furthermore, the strategic positioning of hospitality venues, such as the café, bar, restaurant, and retail spaces, around the central pool area creates a vibrant hub of activity and social interaction. This design decision reflects the growing trend of experiential travel, where guests seek immersive and engaging environments that foster a sense of community and shared discovery.

By embracing these design principles and contextual considerations, Vacancy Bureau has crafted a resort concept that not only showcases our commitment to Uncommon Creativity but also demonstrates our ability to create experiences that resonate with the unique character of a place and the evolving desires of discerning travellers. Through the lens of mythology, nature, and contemporary design, we have developed a multiform resort that pushes the boundaries of conventional hospitality, setting a new standard for immersive and transformative guest experiences.

The resort's design integrates native flora, such as trees, bedding plants, and potted flowers, to create a sense of connection with the natural surroundings. The thoughtful inclusion of vegetation enhances the resort's aesthetic appeal while providing structure and texture to the outdoor spaces.

At Vacancy Bureau, our design approach for this resort concept is rooted in the principles of Uncommon Creativity. We strive to create experiences that are not only visually captivating but also deeply meaningful and contextually relevant. This design access statement aims to illuminate the guiding principles and contextual considerations that have shaped the resort's design.
